Susan Shwartz
In 2022, Susan Shwartz returned to her first love: writing fantasy and science fiction. A five-time Nebula Award nominee, a two-time Hugo Award nominee, and a nominee for the World Fantasy Award, the Philip K. Dick Award, and the Edgar Award, Susan has an impressive career spanning nearly thirty books. Her works include anthologies, science fiction, historical fantasy, and contributions to the Star Trek universe. Additionally, she has written more than 100 short stories, novelettes, and novellas, along with nonfiction published in outlets such as The New York Times, Vogue, The Washington Post, Amazing, Asimov’s, and Analog.
Susan is currently working on an article about The Butler Institute for American Art for a prize-winning magazine. In the coming year, several of her stories are set for release, covering topics as varied as the Soviet Space Program, Eleanor of Aquitaine, climbing, and the Battle of the Bulge.
In addition to her literary accomplishments, Susan holds a Ph.D. in English, collects science fiction art, and has a deep passion for opera, theatre, and travel.
