Keith R.A. DeCandido’s recent and upcoming projects include the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine short story “You Can’t Buy Fate” in issue #7 of Star Trek Explorer; Phoenix Precinct, the latest novel in his fantasy/police procedural series; the Star Trek Adventures role-playing game mission Incident at Kraav III (co-written with Fred Love); Feat of Clay, the second book in his urban fantasy series set in the Bronx, New York; the Resident Evil comic book miniseries Infinite Darkness: The Beginning, a prequel to the Netflix animated series; the urban fantasy short story collection Ragnarok and a Hard Place: More Tales of Cassie Zukav, Weirdness Magnet; a novella in Sherlock Holmes: Cases by Candlelight Volume 2 (premiering at Shore Leave this year); All-the-Way House, an origin story of the Jersey Devil from the Systema Paradoxa cryptid series; and two collaborative novels: Animal (with Munish K. Batra, MD, FACS), a thriller about a serial killer targeting animal abusers, and To Hell and Regroup (co-written with the late David Sherman), a military science fiction novel.

In addition, he’s contributed numerous short stories, including works in Every Human Creature and Season of Darkness, the first two volumes in the superhero anthology series Phenomenons, created by fellow Shore Leave guest Michael Jan Friedman. His other stories appear in The Eye of Argon and the Further Adventures of Grignr the Barbarian, The Fans are Buried Tales, Joe Ledger: Unbreakable, Tales of Capes and Cowls, Three Time Travelers Walk Into…, Thrilling Adventure Yarns 2022, Zorro’s Exploits, and The Good, the Bad, and the Uncanny. He has also co-edited two new anthologies in which he contributed stories: The Four ???? of the Apocalypse (with Wrenn Simms) and Double Trouble: An Anthology of Two-Fisted Team-Ups (with Jonathan Maberry). Keith regularly writes about pop culture for the award-winning website Tor.com, his Patreon (patreon.com/krad), and for publications by Sequart and Crazy 8 Press, as well as the Outside In, Subterranean Blue Grotto, and Gold Archives series.

Beyond his writing, Keith holds a fourth-degree black belt in karate, where he not only trains but also teaches both children and adults. He is also a professional musician, currently performing as a percussionist for longtime Shore Leave musical guests Boogie Knights, and has over 25 years of experience as a professional editor (although he typically does it sitting down).
