Esther Friesner
Nebula Award winner Esther Friesner is the author of over forty novels and more than two hundred short stories. A graduate of Vassar College, she earned her Ph.D. in Spanish from Yale University. In addition to being an accomplished author, Esther is a poet, a professional playwright, and the editor of eleven anthologies, most notably the popular Chicks in Chainmail series, which she created and edited for Baen Books. Alongside her work in science fiction, fantasy, and a touch of horror, she is also the author of the Princesses of Myth Young Adult series, published by Random House.
Esther lives in Connecticut with her husband, is a mother of two and grandmother of two, and shares her home with several cats. She has a love for bittersweet chocolate, graphic novels, manga, travel, and jewelry. While her family denies the rumor that their motto is “Oooooh, SHINY!” it’s hard to dispute her affection for sparkly things.
Her superpower? The ability to prune her bookshelves without too much whining.
