Shore Leave is a fan-run convention held each summer to celebrate all things geeky and nerdy. We are fortunate enough to be located at the fabulous Wyndham Lancaster Resort and Convention Center.

The following are some of the activities offered at Shore Leave:

Celebrity Guests: The convention, initially a Star Trek event, has evolved into a celebration of all forms of sci-fi/fantasy and brings in guests from popular TV shows and movies.

Writing Workshops: Improve your writing skills with workshops led by favorite writers, covering topics such as writing non-fiction in Trek, point of view in storytelling, and the challenges of being a writer.

Stargazing: Explore the planets, stars, and galaxies visible from Lancaster, PA.

Meet the Pros Party: Autograph party with author guests and the chance to meet authors of the latest sci-fi releases.

Game Room: A variety of activities including role-playing games, collectible card games, and miniature war games.

Photo Ops: Get a photo taken with your favorite stars and have it signed without leaving the hotel.

Fan Panels: Some amazing fan-led panels about your favorite Sci-fi/Fantasy subjects!

Shore Leave is the annual meeting for the STAT Club of Maryland

On stardate 3025, the crew of the USS Enterprise arrived at a planet in the Omicron Delta region. A landing party, which included Chief Medical Officer McCoy and Helmsman Sulu, was sent down to explore the planet.

Shortly after their arrival, Mister Sulu asked Doctor McCoy whether he thought the captain might authorize shore leave for the crew. The doctor agreed that the planet seemed well suited, adding, “It’s like something out of Alice in Wonderland.”

A short time later, Doctor McCoy encountered a talking white rabbit, followed moments later by a young girl in a gingham dress.
