will be speaking about:
- Asteroids! Finding Them before They Find Us
- The Hayabusa 2 Mission
Paul Abell has been at NASA Johnson Space Center since January 2004. He has served at NASA as a National Research Council Associate, Postdoctoral Program Fellow, Hayabusa Joint Science Team Member, Research Scientist and Space Scientist. Paul is engaged in the collection and analysis of telescopic spectral observations of near-Earth objects in order to characterize their mineralogical and chemical compositions, as a means to determining their hazard potential. He also works on identifying and characterizing near-Earth objects that might be suitable for future robotic and human exploration. Before joining NASA, Paul served as a Telemetry Officer for the Near Infrared Spectrometer on the Near Earth Asteroid Rendezvous (NEAR) mission, at Johns Hopkins University.
