James Mascia, a teacher and a writer, has always been fascinated with superheroes. So when the challenge came to write a superhero story that didn't involve comic books in any way, he eagerly accepted it. This challenge spawned High School Heroes, a series of novels, short stories, ebooks and graphic novels about a group of teenagers who desperately want to become superheroes but high school keeps getting in the way.
James finds time to write while teaching teenagers writing and literature as well as taking care of his newborn son, Jacen. He lives in Southern Maryland with his loving wife and son.
